The 2013 Scholarship winners were announced yesterday in the Club's weekly newsletter.  Two students - Jordan Rosetta and Andrew Iacoi - are graduating from Westerly High School.  The $2,000 awards will be given upon completion of their first college semester at the Club's dinner meeting in December or January.

Jordan has been a member of the Rhode Island and National Honor Societies and was a member of the varsity basketball and golf teams.  For his community service throughout his high school career, he volunteered at the Westerly Apple School, the Westerly Senior Center, the Columbus Day Parade, Substance Abuse Task Force, Beach Clean Up, and coaching youth basketball.  He also participated in peer tutoring, character education and the Best Buddies program.  Jordan was accepted into the Pharmacy program at both the University of Rhode Island and St. John's University.

Andrew has been an honors student throughout his high school career and has been on the indoor, outdoor and cross country track teams during his four years and served as Captain of the teams.  For his community service, he has served as a Freshmen Mentor, Middle School peer coach, Catholic Youth Group at St Pius X, leader in the Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse and Character Education.  Andrew plans to continue running track and to study sports biology at Springfield College.
