The Board met with District Governor Angela Ponte at 4:30 on 7 August. After dealing with regular Board business, the meeting was turned over to DG Angela. She mentioned a couple of things of interest. She suggested that Interact was not just for high school students anymore, she said that Y members are also eligible. In a discussion about membership, she suggested having an "alumni" night - inviting former members to attend a social evening. She was happy to hear about Westerly's Peace & Justice group and the event coming up on 21 September - International Day of Peace. The Board agreed to co-sponsor this local event. Coming up, DG Angela told us that Foundation Night this year will be "Foundation Lunch" on Saturday, 4 November, from 11am to 2pm, at the Neighborhood Club of Quincy, 27 Glendale Road, Quincy, MA - SAVE THE DATE!!! She also told us that the District Conference this year will include 4 districts and will take place in Southbridge, MA, 3-5 May 2024 - more to come. DG Angela asked that we let her know when Summer Pops takes place next year as she would like to help. She has been making every effort to attend Club events and volunteer her time.
