President Derin with Andrew Plumpton and Principal Kellie

Andrew, our January Student of the Month, is a National Honor Society member, has served as a Freshman Mentor, served on the AP Panel that helps freshmen and sophomores to achieve success, is on the Brown University Youth Advisory Board.  He has had several part-time jobs.  What makes Andrew doubly outstanding is his volunteerism during his high school career.  He assisted in summer Basketball camp, cleanup duties at our beaches, assisted in Church at various events, hosted a showing of The Art to Living docuseries, assisted at Vacation Bible School.  Andrew is leaning toward Biomedical Engineering and hopes to attend Georgia Tech.  We look forward to hearing more from this young man.

President Derin with Samuel Marchese and Principal Kellie

Samuel is our February Student of the Month.  He came to Westerly in 2022 from Colorado and is also a member of the National Honor and Rhode Island Societies.  He has won several awards and honors during his high school career.  Samuel works at New England Airlines and has worked at URI as a laboratory research assistant.  His volunteer work has included work at the Rhode Island Blood Center, Animal Friends Alliance and McGraw Elementary School.  He plans on a mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering in his college career.

Both young men have amazing futures ahead of them - we know that they will be successful with the start they have had in high school.  And, we extend our grateful thank you to Nigrelli's Jewelry for our beautiful plaques.
