RICAN Christmas, 8 December 2012

Saturday evening at the Venice Restaurant Ballroom  -  Friends and family of the Chariho and Westerly Rotary Clubs, along with the volunteers of Rhode Island Assisting Those in Need, gathered together to celebrate Christmas and to raise funds for the organization's fuel and food assistance needs.  Deborah Nigrelli, Executive Director of RICAN, welcomed attendees and provided a video presentation.  Past President Bob Elmer provided introductions and thanked all present for their donations and dinner entrees.  Music was provided by DJ Caswell Cooke.  And, best of all, there was a surprise visit by Santa Claus for all the little ones.  A wonderfully festive evening with great friends, great food and BIG hearts!!!  Over $3,100 was raised in cash donations, gift cards, books and toys.  A big thank you to all who participated and especially to Steve Salerno, John Huhtala and Ron Roberts!!
