Week of 29 Apr 2013

Guest for the evening was Paul Duffy who is Director of Parks and Recreation.  He has been with the Town for over twelve years and spoke with pride about the work and legacy of Rotary Park.  He was delighted that we are still as committed to making improvements to the Park and has spoken to the folks responsible for maintaining the Park about our work day project.  Also he asked that, if we plan a future improvement project, the Donor sign is in need of repair or replacement.

Week of 6 May 2013

Notes:  Board met at 4:00 - discussion included Chowder CookOff results - not all funds are in but may be the lowest net revenue in five years; reviewed status of Summer Pops plans - most concession items have been ordered, the rest is in process  -  Rose will prepare an outline of Pops Day Job List for signup as the day draws closer; Past President Bob is speaking at one of the 3:00pm Sessions at the District Conference on 17 May; Work Day at Rotary Park is rescheduled to 14 May 2013 at 9:00am; President Cal received a letter of resignation from Rosemarie Russo and after discussion, the Board voted to accept it.  Also, Cal expressed concern about planning events going forward.  He believes that we should plan to do only two fundraisers next year with one of those being the Summer Pops.  In addition, he wondered if we shouldn't consider a "missed meeting fee" for members who miss a meeting and don't make up and if we should reduce the number of speakers each month.

WARM Shelter sent a thank you note for the final 2013 contribution for the "Dollar makes a difference" program.
