2013 Rotary Youth Leadership Award Student is Julianna Marrone

Image    Julianna is a Sophomore at Westerly High School and plays basketball and volleyball.  Principal Ruscito said that he asked previous RYLA winners Austin Menta and Ryan Quattromani to assist with the selection process.  Students completed applications for the award but it was Julianna's statement "leadership is someone who creates their own path" that won the day.  A very impressive young lady, the membership looks forward to her return visit after her RYLA experience.

April Student of the Month -  Celine Gouvin

Image Principal Ruscito introduced Celine, saying that each student of the month selection is special in their own way.  A Senior, member of National Honor Society, Rhode Island Honor Society, Cheerleader and Captain, Celine took the lead to put together the Unified basketball tournament for special needs students.  In addition, she runs camps of the Pee Wee cheerleaders.  She has applied to several colleges and hopes to study in the field of pre-med or health sciences.

Congratulations to Mike Smith

Image  President Cal awarded Mike Smith a certificate for his five years of service in Rotary.  But, sadly we were saying good by to this fine young man.  He recently accepted a position at a newspaper organization closer to home in Connecticut and he, therefore, has had to terminate his membership in this Club.  We all wish him the very best.  Godspeed, Mike.
