September 2018
Lisa Yuen is an honor student with over 500 hours of community service, participates in several extracurricular activities, achieve perfect attendance and works part-time in the family restaurant.
October 2018
Thomas McLaughlin has been an honor student throughout his high school career, member of the Cross Country team, Robotics. He has been a member of the Chorus of Westerly for several years and is an Altar Server at Immaculate Conception Church.
November 2018
Joshua Lacerte has been an honor student all four years of high school, varsity football team and captain. His community hours include Football Youth Camp, honorary firefighters dinner and Junie Rios youth camp. He has earned several awards including the Washington Trust Leadership Award.
December 2018
Adrianna Turano has been an honor student and member of National and RI Honor Societies. She has been on the Lacrosse and indoor track teams; member of Girls State, Girls Nation, Student Council and several more. Her community service hours include Bible Study Camp, Town of Westerly Recreational Summer Camp, North End Clean up, Summer Pops, Blood Drive and more.
January 2019
Samuel Luzzi is a member of the RI and National Honor Society. He is Class President, Captain of the Soccer Team, was a member of Wrestling and indoor and outdoor track teams. His community service includes Special Olympics Unified Partner, Summer Pops Volunteer, Foreign Language Enrichment and Altar Server/Master of Ceremonies at Immaculate Conception Church.
February 2019
Antwone Brown has achieved many honors in his four years - honor roll, science award, bulldog pride pin, construction award - most improved student. Participated in football all four years, in track for two years and Unified Basketball all four years. Service to the community included the After-School program reading to elementary students, Special Olympics Mentor for Sunday Bowling League, Buddy Foundation mentor for Buddy Walk and Columbus Day Parade helper.
March 2019
Helena Hall-Thomsen achieved Honors with Distinction every semester, was an AP Scholor with Honor, a Rensselaer Medalist in 2018, and was inducted into the National Honor Society in 2018. Helena has participated in Indoor and Outdoor Track and Cross Country achieving many records and awards. She served as Vice President of her Class; her artwork was selected to be the first Student art to be purchased and displayed by the High School. Her community service included helping to paint the murals at last year's Bricks and Murals event in downtown Westerly as well as volunteering at Jonnycake Center to assemble food baskets and Attack the Track program for elementary school children and was Counselor at Camp Invention program for third graders.
April 2019
Allison Ornberg is a star in so many ways. She has been on the Honor Roll, achieved National Honor Society, received "Excellence in Choral Music", played Lucy recently in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown". For her community service, Allison has volunteered at the Softball field concession, watching children in the bowling program, collected toiletries for Living Supply Closet, caroling to elderly at Apple Rehab and Elms Nursing Homes. She also is the morning announcer at school. Allison plans on attending URI and majoring in Accounting.
