Monday evening it was brought to my attention that I had been negligent in keeping the membership apprised of Board activities since meetings had been moved to after dinner rather than before.  So, the following is a summary.
 
  Events:  The Board approved assistance to the September First Responder Tribute,  Jonnycake Pasta Dinner in November, Football Night with The Rotary Club of Stoningtons, Chowder CookOff for February 2018, Charitable/Scholarship Auction Dinner in May 2018 and Summer Pops Concession in June 2018.  Planned prior to Club year end, the Golf Tournament took place in October 2017.  The Cookoff, Tournament and Pasta Dinner resulted in net proceeds of $17,783.  Our Wishing Well at McQuade's Market brought in $1,355 so far this fiscal year.

Students of the Month Program - continued with the assistance of Principal Todd Grimes with outstanding students each month.  Plaques were donated and engraved by Nigrelli's Jewelry with our grateful thanks.
 
Grants:  We applied and received approval from the District Grant Committee to continue the Reforest the Tropics Project now both in Westerly Middle School and Westerly High School.  District will award $1500 toward the $3500 funding required.        
 
Library Books:  We have continued the program of donating a book to the Westerly Library in honor of our guest speakers and that cost of this fiscal year, so far, is $102.
