Community Giving to date includes $500 to Westerly Pee Wee Football and $500 to the Columbus Day Parade Committee.
A $600 check to sponsor a child of Chikumbuso for one year, as well as $100 check to A Walk to End Alzheimers for walkers Rona and Rose, $60 check to Stand Up for Animals for Trivia Night event and $300 check to Central Baptist Church for First Responders Service, $40 to Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Fund (to help Rona reach her goal for the half marathon walk last weekend), $200 to Westminster Youth String Ensemble, $250 to Literacy Volunteers of Washington County, $500 to WARM Shelter.
 
Past President Bob Elmer has agreed to become the Rotarian representative to work the Westerly High School's Interact Program.  He and Cal Lord met with Chef Finkelstein and Mr. Hathaway at the high school last week along with several students who will make up the Interact and FBLA Clubs.
With the assistance of Principal Michael Hobin and his staff, Abi Turano was selected to attend Rotary Youth Leadership Award Camp next year.  Abi will be attending the December 17 dinner meeting.
 
EREY: Six members have contributed to the Rotary Foundation as of November 5. So, 37.5% participation since July.  If anyone makes a donation directly at Rotary Foundation website, please let Secretary Rose know.
POLIO PLUS:  $500 through our Million Dollar Meal at Rotary Park.
 
November 15 Pasta Dinner to benefit Jonnycake Center of Westerly -  Anyone who still has not turned in ticket money should get their funds to Rose ASAP so we can bring this event to a close and get our check to JCW.  Due to the generosity of the Calabrese Club, it was decided to promote the Club on our Sponsor section of website and in The Tattler for the next year.
 
Dec 10th will be Annual Meeting night - members please try to attend.  We will also celebrate Christmas so spouses and guests are also invited.  2019/2020 Slate of Officers: President-Elect Kathryn Taylor, President Nominee Rona Mann, Vice President Ted Avedesian, Secretary/Treasurer Rose Russo, Director Steve Cofone.
 
Dec 17 is Student night with our November and December Students of the Month as well as our 2019 RYLA student - Abi Turano.
 
There will be NO dinner meetings on Dec 24 and Dec 31.

The 15th Annual Chowder CookOff will be 9 February 2019  at the Venice Restaurant Ballroom from 12:00 to 3:00pm.   We will start getting in touch with our local restaurants and schools very soon.  SAVE THE DATE!!!!
