The membership welcomed Helen Mochetti to dinner this past Monday to celebrate her fifty years of service to the community and to the many, many children that passed through the Westerly Library over the past thirty years as head of the Children's library services.  She actually held a variety of positions at the Westerly Library, celebrating fifty years this year.  Brigitte Hopkins, the Library's current Executive Director, said that Helen has "touched the lives of thousands and brought joy to so many individuals who have passed through our doors.  She has seen some grow up before her eyes only to return with their own children."
For our Club, in particular, we owe Helen a great debt for all her help with our program of providing Children's books in honor of our speakers.  Helen was always - always - up to the task of matching a book to the Speaker's topic.  And so we presented Helen with a Paul Harris Fellow Award to thank her for her warm smile, gentle greetings and spreading the importance of reading in that "magical space" in the Library's lower level.

Joining us for this special occasion was husband of 39 years, Lido Mochetti, as well as Brigitte Hopkins and Bill Lancellotta, Assistant Director of the Library, and Donna Celico.
