Rotarians at Work
As of 10am this morning, President-Elect Rona Mann has launched a program to provide grocery and prescription delivery service to people sheltering in place during the coronavirus crisis.  Contact Rona at 401.539.7762 or six07co@att.net with your needs.  Rona conferenced yesterday with Chief Lacey, Pawcatuck First Selectman and Clergy Association representative to work out a network plan.  Four deliveries have been completed in the past couple of days by Westerly Rotarians Alan and Julie and Rotary Club of the Stoningtons.  Rona helped one of our own today (Thursday 3/26).  The Alvinos are self-quarantined since returning from Mexico and were in need of sanitizing supplies.  The Rotary Club of the Stoningtons made another home delivery.  And, as of today, another program has been formed - Adopt a Grandpa.  After receiving a phone call from a 92-year old's granddaughter asking if a hot meal or two can be delivered, Rona set about getting help with this.  Donna Celico will be heading this project but Rona will continue to be the coordinator.  After supplying Grandpa with several dinners for the past coupld of weeks, his family has taken over; meanwhile, Rona and her fabulous team continue to make grocery deliveries.
Latest update from Rona on Apr 24th:  "I get a call of someone needing food or medicine or in crisis, and before I can finish my question to the volunteer I call, they are saying, 'When, where?  Give me the details'.  And she received a call on Thursday from a woman we helped a month ago, 'I just want to tell you how delicious the food is and to make sure you're alright because two people in this development tested positive.  God bless you and all your Rotary people.'"

Grey Sail Brewery
Jen and Alan Brinton are hard at work creating hand sanitizer which should be ready in a week or two and they plan to give the supply away.  Kudos to them for their generosity to this community.  Friday, April 24th, Jen and Alan Brinton donated 75 bottles of Sanitizer to our friend Janie Carlisle's Carlisle-Williams Foundation.  Janie could not locate any sanitizer for their dialysis support bags and contacted Rose after reading in our newsletter about Grey Sail's project.  An email to Alan resulted in his saying that 75 bottles would be ready on Friday.  Anthony picked them up and delivered them to Janie.   Janie sent an email, "I am floored and overwhelmed with gratitude."  To Jen and Alan, we are so grateful for your continued generosity to this community

KUDOS to all the restaurants who are offering take-out dinners and curb-side service.
