It was such a pleasure to meet some of the members of the Irish Coastal Club - our very own Mary Lennon is also a member. Jim Galooly gave us a little history of how we came to celebrate St. Patrick's Day; Liz followed with a little language lesson; and Eileen, who was born in Ireland, told of her journey from there to the US. We enjoyed a Brazen Hen dinner of corned beef, potatoes, carrots and soda bread.
Coming up at Westerly Library on 22 March at 1:00pm in the Auditorium, the Irish Coastal Club will have a lecture and book signing with Cormac K. H. O'Malley about his most recent book "The Enchanted Bay: Tales and Legends from Ernie O'Malley's Irish Folklore Collection."
