Megan Toscano, Director of Annual Giving at our Ocean Community YMCA, visited us on 21 April to update our members on the activities going on at the Y. The Y is made up of the Westerly/Pawcatuck Branch, Arcadia Branch, Camp Wauchaug and Mystic Naik Family Branch and emcompass over 4,000 people. The branches are all independently run with member dues covering most operation expenses. It is the Y's policy to "make membership available to all persons regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or financial circumstances without discrimination. Branches and their programs embrace inclusion, reflecting the composition of the communities they serve."
The doors are always open - "with a commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the Y ensures that everyone has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow and thrive."
