Monday evening District Governor Bill Tennant and Deb Smith-Zukowski met with members of the Board for a short meeting at the Venice Restaurant. DG Bill was interested in the projects we have worked on or are in planning. He had viewed our Website and Facebook - was impressed with all we do for a small club.
After the Board meeting we drove over to Rotary Park for our Million Dollar Meal with our proceeds going to Polio Plus. Our chefs once again included Joseph Potter and daughter Cindy Capizzano with the grateful loan of Bruce Morrow's enormous grill. Potluck portion included salad, pizza, seafood potato skins, eggplant parm, pasta salad, fruit, brownies, chips and a very special Rotary chocolate cake. Yum!!!! Thanks to all.
Later we assembled in the Children's Garden where several of the Gardeners of Westerly members were seated. DG Bill was asked to present, on behalf of our Club, a Certificate of Appreciation to the Gardeners for their service of creating and maintaining the Children's Garden. Kathryn presented DG Bill with a book for the Children's Library.
