We were delighted to have Sam Read join us Monday evening. She spotlighted our Club recently with our "Keep Ryder Riding" Fundraiser and "Random Acts of Rotary" program. She has purchased a home here in Westerly - returning home at last. Sam graduated from Springfield College in 2013 with a Comunications, Sports Journalism degree and then began her career in Panama City Beach, Florida. She later moved to Maine reporting for CBS13 and FOX23. "In 2017 she was awarded three first-place awards by the Associated Press for general assignment, continuing coverage and best sports feature." Sam has been with WJAR, NBC 10 Team since 2018 and is a multimedia journalist on the Night Team. And her "Good News" stories? She shoots, writes, edits the segments all by herself.
