Pictured above with President Kathryn is Deb & Lindsay Tanner, Executive Director and Assistant Director, respectively.  Southern Rhode Island Volunteers is located in Charlestown, Rhode Island but serves all of southern Rhode Island towns.  The organization's mission is to "enhance lives by inspiring, creating and supporting a lifelong culture of service through our volunteer members and affiliates across Southern Rhode Island."  Their programs are INDEPENDENT AGING SERVICES - "helping elderly individuals and adults with disabilities to remain in their own homes with assistance" - transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores, meals on wheels, respite relief for caregivers and companionship to elders; VOLUNTEER PROGRAM - volunteers aged 13 and over and Retired Senior Volunteers aged 55 and over - available for community service at food pantries, schools, libraries, museums, animal shelters, senior/community centers; and DISASTER PREPAREDNESS (CERT) - serving Narragansett, South Kingstown and North Kingstown communities in regional sheltering during time of natural and man-made disasters.
