Saturday evening, April 28, was a very special night at the Westerly Armory.  Five very special people were recognized for their "service to community, state and nation - Rose Marie Pampel Weston, RI Rep. Samuel A. Azzinaro, Dr. John B. Stellitano, Mary Lou Serra (posthumously) and our very own Rotarian Joseph Potter.  Roberta Mudge Humble introduced each Honoree who said a few words and were presented with a medal and a Town Proclamation.  Roberta highlighted the military service of Rep. Azzinaro, Dr. Stellitano and Joe Potter.

Special guests attending to speak about "Rocky Point Park: Then and Now" were Felicia Gardella (President of the Warwick Historical Society), John Howell (President of the Rocky Point Foundation), Mayor Scott Avedisian (Mayor of Warwick).  Also present were members of the Pawtuxet Rangers (Rhode Island Militia Unit initially chartered in 1774 to protect the seaport of Pawtuxet).  Everyone attending the event received a Mixed Drink Ticket from the old Rocky Point Palladium.
