Thirteen members made it to the Zoom meeting yesterday.  We made a hearty attempt to normalcy by beginning with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by prayer from Cal.  We remembered Steve Salerno, celebrated the Wedding Anniversaries of Doug & Jean Rayner (June 6) and Rona & Dave Mann (June 7), and the Club Anniversary of Frank Celico (June 1).  Calling on everyone in alpha order, we resumed "Happy, Sad Dollars", with the understanding that everyone would keep track of their own dollars and submit a check within the month to Treasurer Rose.

We have received thank you notes for our donations to Shelter Box USA, Jonnycake Center of Westerly and Rotary Club of La Penita Mexico.  Shelter Box USA is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year and has served 1.5 million people in over 100 countries around the globe delivering aid to disaster zones.  Jonnycake Center noted that they have seen a big increase in the number of people who need their help.  Rotary Club Bahia de Jaltemba-La Penita wrote that our donations over the past ten years has supported the "All Schools Project" in their region.  They repaired restrooms, broken windows, installed new floors, repaired water and electrical ystems, new desks, blackboards, bought school supplies, installed vegetable gardens.

Rose attended the Zoom District Conference Assembly on 28 May.

Regarding the Golf Tournament, the committee is moving forward with planning.  Frank will let the committee know a date to meet with Shelter Harbor's April Palmiscano to discuss dining guidelines per COVID regs.  "Save the Date" emails to golfers will go out in the next day or two.

Bob and Suzanne Lane presented two signs to recognize other heroes of our community - all the essential workers.  They were forwarded to the membership to make a choice.  As of this writing, only eleven members have responded.

District 7950 Public Image Committee is creating a new design and reorganized content for its website and have asked the Clubs to submit pictures of Rotarians "in action" for the last two to three years.  Rose spent several hours scanning through picture folders to find an assortment of Westerly Rotarian pictures - in action and not standing still, shaking hands or receiving awards and finally sent off eight - dedicating the Peace Pole, installing the Harmony Trail instruments, cleaning and gardening around the Rotary Park sign, working at the WHS Expo/RTT table, riding in the November 11 Parade.

Next week we will not have a guest speaker but there will be a Board meeting immediately after our regular meeting.  Kathryn is also asking if anyone is interested in attending a Tuesday morning zoom meeting.  Please contact her if you can attend a Tuesday meeting at 9:30 instead of Monday at 5:30.

15 June we will have as guest speaker Alex Conway from the Boy Scout Narragansett Council.
